Pemba

Pemba is a 2 year old Mongrel. She is a lively young dog. She needs a lot of training and she doesn't understand how to interact with other dogs so she will need a lot of effort put into socialising her while she is still young. Pemba is very intelligent and would suit experienced owners who have had terrier or collie types before as Pemba has a lot of these breed types characteristics. Given time and the correct training Pemba will make a great family pet with children over 14.

Sebastian

Sebastian is a 4 year old Leonburger X. He is a lovely boy who at times can be nervous. He's very friendly and once he gets to know you is very playful. Sebastian has had very little training and socialising and as a result lacks confidence when his surroundings change. Sebastian needs owners who are prepared to put in lots of time and effort into building up his confidence. He does not like other dogs so will need to be the only pet in a household. He is looking for a home with children over 14.

Frodo

Frodo is a 7 year old German Shepherd cross. He is a playful, lively dog. He has been attacked and bitten by another dog in the past and as a result can be fearful and aggressive towards unknown dogs, for this reason Frodo needs to muzzled when around other dogs. Frodo is fully housetrained and travels well in the car, he does need a little basic training but given time will make a fun family pet.

Jonesy

Jonesy is a 4 year old German Shepherd cross. He is a happy friendly dog. He is very strong on the lead so will need some further training. He gets on well with other dogs, he has lived with Frodo for a year. Jonesy is looking for a home with children over 13. He will make a fantastic pet for a patient owner.

Lady

Lady is a 10 year old collie. She is a timid quiet dog who must be rehomed with her best friend Bruno as they are inseparable. Lady would suit a quieter home as she can be shy and nervous initially in new situations. Lady walks well on the lead and loves human company.

Bruno

Bruno is a 7 year old Dachshund cross. He is a very sweet, affectionate and outgoing dog. He loves playing with toys. He gets on very well with Lady butdoes not like any other dogs so should always be kept on the lead when out for a walk. He needs to go to a home with older children and his best friend Lady.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon is a 10 month old large crossbreed. She is a lovely, lively young dog. She originally came to us as a stray and has spent a long time in kennels and as a result has a few training issues which need to be worked on in the home. She can be nervous in new situations and when she is unsure or frightened she will sit down and refuse to move. She will need experienced owners who are prepared to put in the time and energy to train her, given time she will make a fun pet. Cinnamon is looking for a home with children over 14.

Flower is a 1 year old Collie. She is a sweet young dog who is very energetic and playful. She enjoys playing with other dogs and loves to be the centre of attention.  She knows a few basic commands but still needs further training, particularly when walking on the lead.  She will need a home where she will not be left for long periods as she may be destructive and will become bored easily.  Given time Flower will make a fun, lively pet to own. She is looking for a home with children over 10.

Rollie

Rollie is a 16 month old German Shepherd cross. She is a confident, happy, playful dog. She has lots of energy and loves to play. She came to us with her sister Stigger as their owner didn't have the time to give them the attention they needed. She needs basic training and can be very strong at times, she will need experienced owners who have the time to give her the training and attention she needs. Given time Rollie should make a fun family pet.

Yeti

Yeti is a 3 year old Mastiff cross. He is a strong, confident dog who can be very affectionate. He has a strong dislike of other dogs and MUST be muzzled at all times when he is out as he will attack another dog. Yeti will need experienced owners and would be best suited to a quieter rural area where he can be kept away from other dogs. Yeti can be protective and unpredictable with unknown people, particularly men. Yeti is unsuitable to be rehomed with children due to his size but would be good company for an adult household.

Abbey

Abbey is a very sweet 4 year old American Bulldog. She can be nervous in new situations but once she has settled becomes very playful and freindly. She loves to play with other dogs and has bags of energy to burn. Abbey would benefit from basic training and will need experienced owners who have the time and paitience to put into training her. Abbey will make a wonderful family pet for a home with children over 14.

Edna

Edna is a 6 year old German Shepherd. She is a very sweet dog, she loves human company. She can get jumpy when she gets excited and when she first starts a walk but she will soon calm down. She loves to play with toys and people. She has had little training but is very willing to learn new things. Edna will make a lovely pet. She is looking for a home with children over 14.

Mustang

Mustang is a 4 year old sweet, friendly ex racing greyhound. He walks well on the lead and enjoys being in human company. He socialises well with other dogs and can be quite playful for short periods. He will need to be muzzled in public areas due to his racing history. Given time Mustang will make a brilliant, loving companion. He is looking for a home with children over 14.

River

River is a 1 year old collie. He is a lovely young dog who can be very nervous of new situations. He was initially very shy when he came in to us as a stray but has gradually come out of his shell and is very affectionate and playful. He needs a lot of basic training as he does not appear to have had any, and has no idea how to walk on a lead. He will need a very active home to prevent him from becoming bored, but given time will be a fun pet to own. He is looking for a home with children over 14.

Freud

Freud is a 1 year old collie cross. He is a very excitable, highly strung collie who came to us as a stray. He loves to play with any type of toy but will not always give them up. He is not happy being handled or groomed and will snap if pushed, he also has some food possession problems. He is not suitable as a family pet and would be best suited to a very active competition or working home. With experienced owners and training Freud will make a rewarding dog to own. He is suitable to live with children over 16.

Dilly Dally

Dilly Dally is an 8 year old Dalmatian. She is a lovely dog that needs a special home due to her being deaf she is still very willing to learn so with a little training this will not be too much of an issue. She has been mistreated in the past and as a result has bad skin and is over weight. Both problems are steadily getting better. She loves any human company, especially having a cuddle. She is house trained and travels well in the car. She also gets on well with cats. Given time and a loving home Dilly Dally will make a great addition to any home. She is suitable to live with children over 10. >

Charlie

Charlie is a 4 year old cocker cross. He is very boisterous, playful dog who originally came to us as his owner moved abroad. He was rehomed for a few months but developed some behaviour problems and was returned to us. He needs to be muzzled at all times when out in public as he can be aggressive with both dogs and people. He is a lovely house dog but needs a lot of training when out on walks. Charlie would suit experienced owners who have the time and energy to put into training him. He is suitable to live in a home with children over 16.

Leo

Leo is a 3 year old German Shepherd cross. He is an energetic, playful dog who came to us as a stray. He is quite highly strung and very vocal at times particularly when he sees another dog or wants attention. He will need experienced owners who have the time and knowledge to put into training him. He is very affectionate but can be quite overpowering as he jumps up a lot for attention. Leo is a sweet dog, who with a little training will make a fun pet to own. He is looking for a home with children over 14.

Hicksy

Hicksy is a 3 year old staffie. She is a boisterous young dog who came to us as a stray. She can be strong on the lead and is very energetic, but has a lovely temperament and is very playful. Hicksy has had some basic training and appears to be housetrained. She is a lovely dog who deserves a permanent, caring home. She is looking for a home with children over 10.

Harley And Tara

Harley is a 12 year old collie and Tara is a 10 year old collie. Harley is a fun dog who definitely does not act his age. He loves to play and has a lovely temperament. Harley came to us with Tara who he has lived with for 10 years, we would ideally like to home them together as Tara is very attached to Harley. They are terrific dogs who deserve a good home. Tara is a timid dog who takes time to settle into new surroundings. They are looking for a home with adults only.

Casey

Casey is a 9 year old German Shepherd. She is a lovely girl who has had a horrible life where she has been mistreated resulting in her having a few issues with men and children. Casey is well behaved and walks well on the lead, she enjoys the company of other dogs when out but cannot live with one in the home as she will fight. She is ok with some men and children but can be scared and defensive around others. Casey needs experienced, sensible owners who are prepared to work with her problems and offer her the secure, happy home which she has never had. She is looking for a home with adults only. She is suitable to live with cats.

Jilly

Jilly is a lovely 4 year old greyhound. She enjoys being groomed and likes walks she is good on the lead but will have to be muzzled in all public places as she is an ex-racer. She likes the company of other dogs and will play with balls but wont bring them back. Jilly will make a great addition to any home. She is looking for a home with children over 10.

Matrix

Matrix is a 3 year old Staffie cross. He is a lively, young dog, he can get very excitable and may jump up for attention. He loves to play with toys and other dogs and sometimes tries to play with the lead when walking! Matrix is a very bright young dog and knows quite a few basic commands such as sit, down, speak and wait. He can be a bit unruly at times so is unsuitable to live with young children, he is looking for a home with children over 14. Given time Matrix should make a fun family pet.

Spliffy is a 4 year old Jack Russell. He is a playful, energetic young dog who loves to sit on your lap for cuddles. He is good with other dogs and enjoys playing with all types of toys. Spliffy would benefit from some further training but given time should make a fun family pet. He is suitable to live with children over 10.

Arnie

Arnie is a 2 year old American Bulldog. He is a big wimp and scared of his own shadow. Once he knows you he is very friendly and likes to try and climb on your lap for cuddles. He is not interested in food or toys. He doesn't appear to have had any training or socialising and is terrified of other dogs. He is looking for a home with experienced owners who have a lot of time and patience and will not pressure him. He is suitable to live with children over 15. Randy

Randy is a 5 year old Greyhound. He is a laid back happy dog. He is an ex racing greyhound so will need to be muzzled in public areas. Randy loves human company and mixes well with other dogs, he will make a good companion. He is looking for a home with children over 10.

Grace

Gracie is a 4 year old bubbly greyhound. She enjoys cuddles and long walks. Due to her being an ex racing greyhound she will need to be muzzled in all public areas. She can be unpredictable around dogs and may snap. She has been fine with another greyhound whilst being at Gables. She walks well on the lead and is quite lively. Gracie will make a great addition to a home. She is looking for a home with children over 15.

Leon

Leon is a 7 year old staffie. He is a confident very energetic dog who came to us as a stray. He can be very strong on the lead and will need some basic training. He is ok with most of the dogs he meets but will fight if he is provoked so care would need to be taken in public areas. He enjoys the company of people but is not a particularly cuddly dog. Given time Leon will be a loyal pet. He is looking for a home with children over 10.

Lizzie

Lizzie is a 6 year old staffie cross. She is a happy, very friendly dog who loves to be around people. She does not like other dogs so will ned to be muzzled when out in public. She is housetrained, travels well in the car and is not destructive when left. Lizzie has a lovely temperament and will make a loving family pet. She is suitable to live with children over 4.
