Susie

Susie is a 1 year old Doberman cross German Shepherd. She is a highly strung anxious girl and was very frightened when she first arrived at Gables. It took her a long time to settle and trust people. She now feels secure and she is bouncy, fun and full of life. She has no training and can be exuberant and does have a naughty habit of jumping up very high when she is excited. She loves other dogs and is more confident with them than she is with people. She is looking for experienced owners who will help her to overcome her nerves and gain her confidence so that she can enjoy life a bit more. She is an extremely loving and affectionate dog. She is suitable to live with children over 16.

Rudolph

Rudolph is a 1 year old Staffie. He is a very sweet laid back boy. He tries to be well behaved but he sometimes get overexcited and develops selective hearing. He loves to play fetch and adores squeaky toys. He is very friendly with people and other dogs and just enjoy company. He has had some basic training and walks well on the lead, he also knows sit, paw and beg. He is a cheeky boy who will make a wonderful companion to own. He is suitable to live with children over 10.

Rex

Rex is a 7 year old German Shepherd. He loves people and attention, he gets excited and barks when he sees people. He may be partially deaf but he loves tennis balls and will retrieve them. He will only give up his ball in exchange for another one. He is fully housetrained but does not have much basic training. He can sit and is generally quite well behaved. He is looking for experienced owners due to his dislike of other dogs. He is still active but he does tire easily and will be happy with regular walks but not too long as he can get unsteady on his hind legs. He is a sweet old boy looking for a forever home. He is suitable to live with children over 12.

Rocky

Rocky is a 2 year old Dalmatian. He is a timid boy who took a long time to settle in the kennels and trust anyone. He is very sweet and comical once he knows people and has lots of energy. He loves food and is extremely responsive when it is used for training. He is unsure around other dogs and may snap if he feels threatened. He is looking for a quiet home with experienced understanding owners who are prepared to give him time to settle and adjust and not rush him. He has lots of love to give, he just needs a special home to give him the chance to show it. He is looking for a home with adults only.

Skye

Skye is a 12 month old Collie. She is a very loving dog and enjoys having lots of cuddles, long walks and learning new things. She can sit and give both paws. She can be strong on the lead and will jump up for attention. She is looking for an active home where she can attend training classes and go for long walks. She is a very loving dog and will make a great family pet. She is suitable to live with any age children and cats.

Stan

Stan is a 2 year old American Bulldog cross Staffie. He is a very kind, gentle boy who just wants cuddles and affection.  He loves everyone he meets and does not like to be on my own as he gets lonely.  He was left on his own a lot in his last home and he has not been fully housetrained.  He has a lovely temperament and does bond quickly to people.  He needs some training. He walks well on the lead and can sit.  He is full of character and will make a terrific companion and loving pet to own. He is suitable to live with children over 16.

Sonny

Sonny is an 18 month old Jack Russell cross. He is a feisty, cheeky boy who is independent and strong willed.  He is full of life and do not like to stay still for handling or grooming.  He is ok with some dogs but will snap if they pester him too much.  He is a typical terrier and will need experienced owners who are willing to spend time training him.  He may take some time to settle into a new home but given time he will make a wonderful pet to own. He is suitable to live with adults only.

Mimi

Mimi is a 12 month old Collie cross. She is an active girl who enjoys long walks, meeting dogs and having cuddles. She can sit, give both paws and is learning to beg. She can be strong on the lead and will pull and bark at other dogs but she does greet nicely and wants to play. She is looking for a very active home where she can receive lots of training and have regular long walks. She is suitable to live with any age children.

Comet

Comet is an 18 month old Collie. He is a laid back dog who loves cuddles and enjoy walks. He is only young and will need to attend training classes as all he knows is sit, leave and is learning down. He loves food and balls so will train for both. He is looking for an active home where he can have lots of cuddles which he loves and have plenty of training and exercise. He will be a loving dog to own. He is suitable to live with any age children and cats. Reserved. We can take second reserves.

Dancer

Dancer is a 10 month old Labrador cross. She is a very bouncy, playful girl who likes to be on the go.  She has very little basic training and will need experienced owners who are able to spend time training and exercising her.  She is a lovely girl with a sweet nature but she can be overpowering  and jump up and mouth.  She loves people and attention and will make a wonderful pet to own. She is suitable to live with children over 12.

Fenn

Fenn is a 5 year old Collie. He loves playing fetch and trains well for toys, he loves balls. He is quite well trained and can sit, give paw, lie down, stay, leave, fetch and have a good recall. He is not used to being on the lead and feels trapped and he does not respond well to other dogs when he is on a lead. He is an affectionate dog and is good in the home. He needs a home where he can get the dedicated socializing and training he needs. He is looking for an adult only home.

Storm

Storm is a 3 year old Staffie. He is a bouncy, friendly, loving boy!  He adores people and cuddles but he does get over excited and jumps up a lot and sometimes tries to play with the lead.  He is not really bothered by other dogs but will greet nicely.  He needs complete basic training but is very clever and willing to learn.  He has lots of energy so is looking for experienced owners who have a lot of time to train and exercise him.  All he wants is a home where he will not be left on his own for long and where he can have lots of cuddles and affection. He is suitable to live with children over 10.

Scoobie

Scoobie is a 2 ½ year old Staffie. He is a very gentle, sweet boy who loves attention and cuddles.  He walks well on the lead and can sit, give both paws, beg and dance in a circle on his back legs.  He has a very good temperament and gets on well with other dogs.  He has lived happily with young children in the past and is fully housetrained.  He has a lovely  character and will make a terrific pet to own. He is suitable to live with any age children. Reserved. We can take second reserves.

Keely

Keely is a 2 year old Lurcher. She is a timid dog. She will cower and may snap if she feels scared or threatened. She does like the company of people and is affectionate but she gets scared easily. She can sit, give both her paws and will lie down if you lure her. She loves learning and would benefit from attending training classes, to help me socialize with people and dogs. She is looking for an active but quiet home where she can get the exercise and training she needs but not be scared from noise. She is suitable to live with children over 16.

Soldier

Soldier is an 8 month old Staffie. He is a bouncy, playful boy who is cheeky and full of mischief.  He loves people and attention and is extremely lively.  He can be naughty on the lead and sometimes tries to grab it to play but he will stop when he is ignored.  He has attended puppy classes and has some basic training but will need further training.  He desperately need experienced owners who are prepared to give me the time and dedication he deserves. He is suitable to live with children over 12.

Bailey

Bailey is a 7 year old Labrador. He is a loving dog and enjoys the company of people but he also likes his own space. He can be strong on the lead. He can sit and give both paws, he will sometimes give you both paws at the same time. He loves learning and works well for food but will sometimes snatch treats. He is food proud. He loves balls but will guard these too. He is looking for an active, experienced home. He is suitable to live with children over 16 and cats.

Choco

Choco is a 6 month old Labrador. He loves food and is willing to learn. He can sit and give both paws. He will jump up and mouth and will chew the lead aswell but is a loving dog and enjoy cuddles, meeting new playfriends and eating. He is looking for an active home where he can get plenty of exercise and would like to go to training classes. He is suitable to live with children over 5.

Cindy

Cindy is an 18 month old Collie. She is a very lively, bouncy girl who needs a lot of exercise.  She is very friendly and outgoing but has had no training and will need experienced owners who are able to give her the training she needs.  She is vocal around other dogs and will need a lot of socialising to help her overcome her issues with dogs.  She is a sweet girl who in an active home will make a wonderful pet to own. She is suitable to live with children over 8.

Chunks

Chunks is a 5 year old Staffie. He is a quiet, timid boy who loves cuddles and affection.  He is unsure of visitors in the home and will hide in his bed.  If he is allowed to approach people in his own time then he is friendly.  He is friendly with other dogs unless they pester him.  He has played happily with dogs he knows well.  He needs a quiet, experienced home where his insecurities will be worked on and he will receive lots of cuddles and attention.  He cannot live with younger children as he is frightened of them!! He will make a wonderful dog to own. He is suitable to live with children over 15.

Shady

Shady is an 8 year old Staffie. He is a cheeky boy who can be feisty at times! He enjoys the company of people but likes affection on his terms and does not like to be fussed too much or he may snap. He barks for attention and can be demanding of attention. He walks well on the lead and enjoys the company of people. He came into the Home after being starved and left in a field to die. He is now feeling better, is finding his feet and has found a new zest for life!! He is looking for experienced Staffie owners. He is suitable to live with children over 16 and cats.

Tiny Tim

Tiny Tim is a 2 ½ year old Rottie. He is a big softie and has a lovely temperament.  He loves other dogs but they do not always him as he is very boisterous and big!  He is strong on the lead and will need further training.  He is looking for experienced large breed owners as he can be a handful at times.  He is a lovely, sweet boy and deserve a loving, sensible home for life. He is suitable to live with children over 14.  

    Charlie

Charlie is a 5 year old Staffie. He is an easy going laid back dog who likes his own space.  He walks well on the lead and is tolerant of other dogs but not very playful.  He enjoys the company of people but is not a cuddly boy and is very inquisitive.  He is very well behaved and will make a wonderful companion to own. He is suitable to live with children 8.

Fergus

Fergus is an 8 month old Collie. He is almost blind and needs a special home where his insecurities are understood. He is extremely friendly and affectionate and jumps up constantly for cuddles and reassurance. He walks well on the lead but does bump into thing a lot and gets frightened of noises which he cannot understand. He is wary of other dogs because he cannot see them and is really looking for a home where he will be the only pet. He needs experienced, patient owners who have lots of time and energy as he is a lively boy! He is lots of fun and will make a wonderful pet to own. He is suitable to live with children over 16.

Cosmos

Cosmos is an 18 month old Springer Spaniel cross Collie. He is extremely lively, energetic, and loves to play. His previous owners never let him off the lead so he will need to learn recall. He has had some training and knows several commands but he has some behaviour problems which need work. He can be destructive when left. He is very strong on the lead so wears a halti but he does still pull. He will need very patient, active owners who are prepared to continue his training and keep him occupied and stimulated. He is a lovely dog who is full of character and just needs experienced owners who are prepared for the challenge of training him.

Buster

Buster is a 3 year old Old English Sheepdaog. He is a very lively, bouncy boy who loves life.  He enjoys meeting new dogs but his social skills are a bit rough and he sometimes frightens other dogs.  He has some basic training but will need further training to stop him jumping up when he is excited.  He has lots of energy and loves to play with cuddly toys.  He would suit experienced owners who are used to large dogs, he will make a rewarding pet to own. He is suitable to live with children over 14.

Hatter

Hatter is a 9 month old Labrador. He is looking for a very active home. He loves the company of people but just get too excited and jumps up a lot. He does not know how to walk on a lead and is quite erratic on one. He only knows how to sit but is very keen to learn and picks things up quickly. He is not a nasty dog he just can't control himself. He will need a very active home where he get lots of long walks every day and has lots of training. He is suitable to live with children over 12. Donovan & Rosie

Donovan is a 4 year old male Labrador cross. Rosie is a 3 year old Lurcher. Donovan is a timid but friendly boy who can be vocal.  Rosie a timid girl who is wary of new situations and may growl and bark. They have not had much training or socialising and may bark at dogs and strangers.  They are strong on the lead but walk well once they have settled.  They have very sweet natures and are affectionate and cuddly.  They need experienced owners who have the time and energy to dedicate to training them.  They are looking for a home together as they are inseparable. They are suitable to live with children over 14.

Maisy

Maisy is a 3 year old Collie cross. She is a very affectionate dog and enjoys cuddles from everyone. She has some basic training and can sit, give both paws and lay down. She loves food and take treats gently but she does not like people taking her food bowl or bone away. She is a lovely dog who needs an active loving home. She is suitable to live with children over 16.

Barney

Barney is a 4 year old American Bulldog. He is scared of his own shadow. Once he gets to know you he is very loving and loves cuddles. He has had a very unsettled life and needs experienced and dedicated owners. He is looking for an adult only home where he will be the only pet. He is not currently on public view. Vinnie

He is a 6 year old Staffie. He is a very friendly, lively boy who is obsessed with toys especially footballs.  He does not like other dogs and needs to be muzzled and kept on a lead in public places.  He has some basic training and is fully housetrained.  He is crate trained.  He is looking for experienced owners who have the time to put into training. He will make a lovely dog to own. He is suitable to live with children over 12.

Floss

Floss is a 2 year old Staffie cross. She is a lovely, sweet girl who loves to sit on your lap for cuddles.  She is timid of other dogs and tries to avoid them where possible, if she cannot get away from them then she may snap.  She has some basic training but would benefit from lead training and socialising with other dogs.  She has a lovely, kind nature and will make a rewarding pet to own. She is suitable to live with children over 6.

Jimi

Jimi is a 3 year old Staffie. He loves food and is willing to learn. He can sit, give both paws and beg. He loves being with people and enjoy cuddles. He likes most toys and will play by himself but he might chew his toys. He will need an active home and basic training. He does jump up and is strong on the lead. With time and training he will be a great dog to own. He is suitable to live with children over 10.

Danny Boy

Danny Boy is a 7 year old Collie cross. He is a laid back dog who likes cuddles. He has no training and can be strong on the lead. He is clean in the house and enjoy walks. Even though he has no training he is very sweet natured. He has been well behaved while at Gables but he did snap at a child in his last home. He will need regular long walks and socialising with dogs. He is suitable to live with children over 16.

Asta

Asta is a 4 year old Collie cross. He was growly and a bit scared when he first arrived at Gables Farm. He has now settled in loves everyone and enjoy cuddles. He does get over excited and will jump up. He enjoys playing with balls but does not always want to give them up. He will need an active home where he will be kept active physically and mentally. He is suitable to live with children over 12.

Polo

Polo is a 4 year old Greyhound. He is a laid back dog and enjoys the company of people. He is wary of dogs and will try to avoid them, he is not aggressive towards other dogs but he will be better suited on his own. He has no training but he does walk well on the lead. He is an ex racer so must always be muzzled when in a public place. He loves people and will make a good companion. He is suitable to live with children over 8.

Lad

Lad is a 6½ year old Greyhound. He is a laid back dog. He likes the company of people and is very affectionate. He is a gentle dog and loves walks. He walks well on the lead. He likes other dogs but mainly ignores them when on a walk. He gets excited when he plays and like to chase balls but does not bring them back.  He is suitable to live with children over 12.

Jojo

Jojo is a 13 year old German Shepherd cross. She is lively, excitable dog who has a strong dislike of other  dogs and will stand on her back legs barking and lunging at them.  She is walked on a halti for control and has a very sweet nature.  She does not like to play with toys but enjoys most types of food.  Despite her age Jojo is still very active and will make a loyal companion for an experienced owner who is prepared to tolerate her dog aggression issues. She is suitable to live with children over 3.

Star

Star is a 6 year old Greyhound. He is a lively, strong dog who loves to chase toys. He gets over excited and occasionally jumps up for attention. He must always wear a muzzle in public due to him being an ex racer.  He is timid of other dogs except greyhounds so would be better as an only dog.  Star will make a rewarding companion to own. He is suitable to live with children over 14.

Baz

Baz is a 3 year old Greyhound. He likes the company of people and has some basic training. He likes most food and is keen to learn. He can be strong on the lead and gets excited when he sees another dog. In the right home Baz will be a great dog to own. He is suitable to live with children over 8.

Benji

Benji is a 5½ year old Collie cross. He is a very excitable, friendly dog who loves to play with toys and other dogs.  He did not like to be left in the kennel when he first came to gables but he has improved greatly.  He does not like being left in the home and will chew through doors and may toilet in the house.  He is a sweet dog but requires a lot of training and patience to try and improve his anxiety when being left. He has started agility training and is showing good progress, he enjoys agility and has potential as an agility dog.  Given time and dedicated training he will a rewarding  dog to own. He loves people and attention and is very affectionate. He is looking for a home with adults only. He is suitable to live with cats.

Sally

Sally is a 6 year old Collie cross. She is an intelligent dog who does have a few behaviour problems. She does not like dogs and will always have to be muzzled when in public, she is happy to wear a muzzle. She is not keen on being left and may bark. Sally is a nice dog who with time and training will be a rewarding dog to own. She is suitable to live with children over 14.
