Vet Bill Appeal- Please Help our Golden Oldies

Here at Gables Farm we never give up hope of finding a loving new home for an animal, regardless of age or disability.

Every year we take in lots of elderly animals that other people may have deemed ‘too old’. Each of these animals has a special place in our hearts and we work very hard to find them a new home even if it is only for the final few months of their life.

Van Appeal

Gables Farm Dogs’ and Cats’ Home is appealing for donations to help purchase a new van.

The Home’s current van keeps breaking down and we are certain that it will not pass the next MOT in August 2012 without having to spend more money on it than it is actually worth.

A new van would be used to transport animals to and from the vet, transport dogs from the behaviour unit to their new homes, collect donations of food from the local supermarkets and pet stores and also at fundraising events.

The estimated cost of a new purpose built van is £15,000. Gables Farm would like to appeal to people to make a donation to their ‘Van Appeal.’

Marketing and Fundraising Officer Katie Barkell said: “A small contribution to our Van Appeal could make a huge difference to the animals in our care. Having an operational vehicle at Gables is very important; we need to be able to get our animals to and from the vets in a safe way. Please help us to help them.”

Coffee Morning - Saturday 18th February

We will be holding a coffee morning on Saturday 18th February at Gables Farm from 11am until 3pm. There will be tea, coffee and homemade cakes for sale.

Easter Fair & Dog Show - Saturday 7th April

We will be holding an Easter Fair and Dog Show at Gables Farm on Saturday 7th April from 11am until 3pm. There will be lots of stalls, refreshments and a family dog show. All 1st place winners will receive a professional pet portrait taken on the day by Farlap Photography, leading UK dog specialist photographer.

May Dog Show- Saturday 12th May

We will be holding a family dog show on Saturday 12th May at Gables Farm from 11am until 3pm. All 1st place winners will receive a professional pet portrait taken on the day by Farlap Photography, leading UK dog specialist photographer. There will be hot and cold refreshments, a raffle and lots of stalls.

Harewood House Coffee Bar- Monday 21st May - Friday 25th May

We will be manning the coffee bar at Harewood House in Plympton from Monday 21st May until Friday 25th May. The coffee bar will be open from 10am until 2pm each day.

Open Day- Saturday 28th July

We will be holding our annual open day on Saturday 28th July at Gables Farm from 11am until 3pm. There will be a family dog show, hot and cold refreshments, a raffle, games and lots of stalls.
