Rehoming

Are you looking for a new pet?

We currently re-home around 2000 unwanted and abandoned dogs and cats every year and are always looking for good homes for our residents

We rehome all our animals on an individual basis as they all have different needs and temperaments. We match our animals to your home and lifestyle.

We have been rehoming animals for over 100 years now so we have great experience in this area. Gables Farm has used this vast experience to set up some rehoming guidelines to help us find the best homes for our animals - not necessarily just the first one that comes along!

  • You need to be over 21 to rehome a dog or cat from us.

  • We rehome animals within the Devon, Cornwall and Somerset area only.

  • All members of your family that will be living with the animal will need to come in and spend some time with the cat or dog.

DOGS

Every dog that comes into Gables Farm has a temperament assessment to determine what home will be suitable for them.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs you must have a secure garden for sole use only. We don't rehome any dog to properties that have shared gardens due to the unpredictability of other residents and past criticism the charity has faced.

 CATS

We have many cats of all breeds, ages and colours looking for a loving home. All we ask is that you live on a quiet safe road so we can ensure all our cats have a safe and happy life.
