Sponsor A Dog
See which dogs need sponsoring
In common with a lot of re-homing centres, here at Gables Farm we sometimes find there are dogs that come to us with behavioural problems or a physical disability.
Often they suffer from anxiety or fear aggression and some may show protective tendencies.
However, it has to be accepted that sometimes the problem the dog has is deep seated and it is unlikely to be totally eradicated. At Gables Farm we have a strict non-euthanasia policy with the exception of terminal illness where there is pain and suffering, or in the case of dogs; additionally dangerous aggression.
Unless a special home can be found for these dogs they are likely to spend a long time with us, some of them a lifetime. We never give up on a dog and we strive to make them as happy and comfortable as we can. It costs us over £60 per week to house, feed and care for each dog and we desperately need your help.
Would you consider sponsoring a dog?
Sponsoring a dog could not be easier! You can do so by paying £4.00 per month or £48.00 annually. In return you will receive a photograph of your dog and regular updates of his or her progress, you can also come and visit your sponsor dog. We would be very happy to meet you and we know your 'special friend' would be.
You can help by either:

Yeti is a 3 year old Mastiff cross. He is a strong, confident dog who can be very affectionate. He has a strong dislike of other dogs and MUST be muzzled at all times when out for a walk. Yeti will need experienced owners and would be best suited to a quieter rural area where he can be kept away from other dogs. He can be protective and unpredictable with unknown people, particularly men. Yeti is unsuitable to be rehomed with children due to his size but would be good company for an adult household.
Pemba
Pemba is a 2 year old Mongrel. She is a very sweet lively young dog. She needs a lot of training and she doesn't understand how to interact with other dogs so she will need a lot of effort put into socialising her while she is still young. Pemba is very intelligent. Given time and the correct training Pemba will make a great family pet with children over 14.
