Sadly I was abandoned and left tied to a gate by my previous owner. I’m not sure what I did so wrong to be left alone but I know the future is looking bright for me know that I’m safe in the care of Gables.
Despite being a slightly older gentleman, I’m definitely not ready to hang up my hat any time soon. I am a very active chap who is always on the go. I like to have lots of fun, either playing with toys or jumping around in water. I’d be great at agility or flyball….do they do a version for us seniors?
When I’m not rushing about and having lots of fun I do enjoy having a good cuddle. I will lean in to feel the warmth of your body, it makes me feel safe. I like being brushed and since being here I’ve been totally pampered, I was treated to a lovely bath and I even had my hair cut.
I can’t pretend I am perfect, there are still some areas that need a little work. You see, I’ve been told that my doggy etiquette isn’t up to scratch and I don’t greet dogs in an ‘appropriate’ manner…whatever that is. I just get so excited when I see another dog that I can’t help but bark, alot. Apparently other dogs don’t like this and I often cause offence. This is something I would love to get better at, but I’ll need some help.
What kind of home am I looking for?
Potential adopters must have experience with socialising dogs that they have owned before in order to help me understand the right way of saying hello to dogs. I’m not the sort of dog that would sit quietly under a table while you have a cup of tea at a cafe, or be able to play with other dogs on the beach. We would have much more fun alone together on the moors.
