Greyhounds, Greyhounds, everywhere! Why so many of us, I hear you ask. Well, the sad fact is that since the world went into lockdown, along with all other sports, greyhound racing was cancelled leaving many greyhounds in need of their retirement homes sooner than expected. Gables have been amazing and have already taken in 8 of us with the promise of finding our forever homes.
Now, why chose a greyhound? Well, that’s simple.
- We make amazing companions. We are affectionate, cuddly dogs but we don’t crave human attention as we haven’t been used to cuddles and love.
- We don’t need much exercise. Although we would happily go for a long walk on the odd occasion, day to day we are more than happy with a couple of 20 minute walks a day. The rest of the time we love nothing more than a good snooze in a cosy bed (or on the sofa if you’ll let us).
I could go on but I’m sure you want to get to the bottom of the page so you can register your details to offer me your fantastic home.
So why should you chose me? Apart from my obvious dazzling good looks, perfect height and affectionate nature. You should chose me because I need you. I like meeting other greyhounds but I get worried by any other breed as before coming to Gables I’d never seen anything other than greyhounds. I need you to help me feel more confident around these dogs. I realise that might be a challenge so I do need you to have owned sighthounds before and you must understand that I just need time and patience.
I can be strong on the lead (I do walk nicely most of the time I will pull when I want to investigate something) so you will need some muscles in those arms….best get those weights out then!
