Hellllllllloooooooo I’m Rusty – it’s so great to meet you. I love meeting new people, and dogs – I love dogs sooooo much!! Do you already have a dog that is looking for a really fun play friend? I’d really love to have a friend. I’m a busy, high energy and generally easily distracted chap. I’d only been at Gables for a few days when I thought my luck was in as I was selected by the Police to train to work for them. Unfortunately I’m just a bit too scatty for them as I couldn’t keep focused when there were other dogs around. Oh well, I’m back here at Gables now and ready for my next adventure!
I’m quite cuddly really, once you’ve tired me out. I love being groomed and I like a bath too, well water in general suits me down to the ground. Despite having had some brilliant training while I was with the Police, recall is just something I don’t have the ability for. As soon as I spot another dog I just have to run over and say hello, which I am told is not always appropriate because not all dogs want me in their face! To keep me safe and other dogs happy I will need to be kept on the lead in public. I do like to pull on the lead and due to my high energy drive I would be best suited to someone who likes going running so I can tag along. I’ll need 2+ hours of exercise so I need someone energetic and used to owning high energy dogs. My new family must have a strong understanding and knowledge of separation anxiety and be able to help me with feeling more settled and confident when I am on my own at home. It is likely to be some time before I am able to be left at home on my own so there will need to be someone home all day to keep me company for the foreseeable future.
