Hello kind human, I’m so glad you have chosen to spend some time getting to know me. You won’t regret it.
I came to Gables after my brother and I were found wondering the streets together. My background is completely unknown so I get to start my new life with a clean slate. I am a lovely chap who has bags of character and I am going to be such fun for whoever adopts me. Sometimes I can get a bit over excited with my best human friends so I will jump up now and again, mostly because I want to give kisses and cuddles. I quite enjoy some rough play with humans but I am very restrained with this so I don’t get too over the top.
I enjoy playing with toys and I can happily amuse myself for a while, especially if the toy has a squeak. I have a favourite toy too, it’s a blue solid rubbery ball that allows me to have a really good chew on without breaking. It’s also bouncy and has a squeak!
I’m not always Mr Confident and there have been a couple of times where I have struggled meeting new people. Don’t get me wrong, I’m thrilled to meet most people but on the odd occasion I can become quite worried, especially if they try to engage with me when I am indicating that I’m concerned. There was also that time I wasn’t very nice to the vet nut I had just had an operation on my eyes which meant he had to look me right in the face, I still don’t like that vet but we can’t be expected to like everyone, right? It’s because of these few incidents that I need to wear a muzzle when I’m out in public.
I would prefer to live with someone who has a quiet household where I can have a separate space to call my own if visitors come to the house. If you are happy to take our guidance you won’t need to have muzzled a dog before by my new pawrents will need to have experience with stranger danger and dogs who didn’t like going to the vet.
I’m quite strong on the lead so I will need to learn how to walk with the lead loose. I like playing chase with dogs when we are off the lead together and I’m looking for active new owners who like getting out and about to see the world. I might need a little help with basic training in my new home too, including house training. I know how to sit but that’s all I do know. I’m a sweet, loving and snuggly boy who just needs the right people or person to bring me out of my shell.
